Send him some "dwarves" and a bit of wisdom from an axe as well. All for free. Thorin Oakenshield approves this message.

A gearhead friend of mine in L.A. who is too good to contribute to this forii was telling me all about vinyl pressing in 2017 and how bad it is. He was speaking Gunstonese to me, but the main point seemed to be that old vinyl was quite good. Well, it seems that my memory isn't that bad, because I remember some vinyl pressings had some pleasing qualities for the type of noise I liked to buy on vinyl in the 80s and 90s.
I should have bought as much as possible. However, I moved to Japan and the rest of my mistakes are known to you all in some way, shape, or form. Divorce ruins vinyl somehow. It takes a while, but it really does.
NEUROSIS would have paid for MiniYou's college AND a down payment on a house in shimokitazawa. Seeing those Mordam prices makes want revisit all my wasted years and change one thing: my fucked up brain that wanted to use money to move back home to the States. I could have invested those thousands of dollars much more wisely a number of times. Anyway, I am off to lament those prices in peace.

I read EVERY article on the internet about record shops and the "vinyl resurgence" and "record collections". I devour that shit. I could read it all day. Recently read in Rollins LA Weekly column that he has thousands of records he hasnt even listened to yet and probably never will have time to do so. That, I just do not get. The mindset of buying 25 differing pressings of the same LP, I just cannot comprehend. But some people just have this sickness in their brain which somehow legitimises it and, perhaps, virtually compels them to continue doing it.

The mindset of buying 25 differing pressings of the same LP, I just cannot comprehend. But some people just have this sickness in their brain which somehow legitimises it and, perhaps, virtually compels them to continue doing it. Vinyl sickness is akin to gold sickness in The Hobbit. That fucking need to have 'all of it, every last pressing' makes me really uncomfortable. Yes, I have the complete works of Bach, Brahms, Beethoven, and many others. However, I listen to them almost every single day that I am in this abode. I cannot imagine having things around that I do not listen to. Anyway Henry Rollins can do what he wants with his time and money so long as he is not wasting our time and money with more post-Black Flag rubbish. My age is showing here a bit too much. However, I never much cared for Henry Rollins and his "music" and "poetry", but he certainly knows how to interview people and get people interested in the arts. A quixotic fellow that Henry Rollins seems to be. Too bad he has vinyl sickness. He would have made a great king under the mountain.

However, I never much cared for Henry Rollins and his "music" and "poetry", I'm yes and no. No in that he talks about himself ALL THE FUCKEN TIME. It's his favourite topic of conversation. I know his entire life history and I've never searched it out or given an active shit about it. Every time he opens his mouth he just keeps telling everyone about his life to date. It's never about the other person. Always him. All the self reference and self reverence becomes enough self reverberence to circumnavigate a career premised almost solely on talking about yourself? Master stroke!
I'm yes when he writes about music. Plus anyone that raves about ELECTRIC WIZARD kind of has to be my pal.

It seems to me that Henry Rollins has done more for the arts when he writes about it and interviews people. So in the end, he's a friend of us all, especially those from Dorset of all places. ELECTRIC WIZARD. You, sir, are more honest than most folks could dream of.

ha, thought it'd be pennies on discogs, there's only one copy and its $35.
last novelty record I bought was www.discogs.com/release/2097954
played it once, had a laugh at liner notes, then sold it on. cost about 30 pence.
